iPad - So Close To Perfect But No PDF Print E-mail

The Apple iPad Photograph: HO/REUTERS So everyone has been eagerly waiting for what would be the Apple's introduction to the world of tablet computer. I was one of them even though I usually am not a fan of apple products. I wanted something to replace my heavy Macbook PRO for my daily activities and would do a good job of syncing the data over to my laptop or PC. I would use it for school, browsing when I'm out and about, or take it with me on flights where I didn't need actual computing power.

When the iPad was introduced, I made a face at the name they spent millions to come up with and then watched the presentation. It seemed almost everything I wanted. A simple and familiar interface just like on my iPhone with a bit more processing power. The battery life of up to 10 hours would be perfect as something that would last through-out my day. I could purchase overpriced applications for word processing, spreadsheet, and also make presentations. Also the ability to watch videos (though the fact that it's not widescreen is dumb). It had the same browser that works pretty well and displays most of the internet.

So here were the immediate uses I thought of. I could use it as a remote for my home theater computer in the house with Apps like intelliremote, write some sweet documents and spreadsheets for school/work, I could watch videos when I'm on the go and bored. I love the multi-touch interface and gestures and how they are so intuitive. If I could get textbooks on it, I would not longer need to carry any textbooks with me. It was suppose to be such a perfect item for me.

Then came the issues,

America and Education

Now, we have a new President that is to be inaugurated this coming January and though I don't actually agree with a lot of his ideas and plans I do hope that this much needed change does occur. The change that I so desperately hope for is in the education of the leaders and workforce of tomorrow. While I understand it's much easier to hope for something such as health care for all or a artificial money injected and boosted economy since those present a benefit for those who live in the right now. What about when the people living right now need the people living later to support them? What about making a country so much stronger as time progresses that tomorrow's today does not face the hardships that repeat themselves systematically?

4th Month of Saltwater Keeping PDF Print E-mail

4 months of saltwater reef keepingWell, this is as far as I've gotten with my saltwater setup after about 4 months. I have learned a whole heck of a lot and I know I have a lot more to learn yet still. I have made a couple of changes and added a few fish as well as coral. The tank has matured pretty quickly and with Coraline algae spreading rapidly from month 3 and various little critters and copepods by the thousands.

My saltwater tank after 1 month

Well, after approximately a month of having my saltwater tank setup and filled with saltwater, here is where it is. I have fixed up a few of the equipment issues I was having and I have completed my nitrogen cycle and begun the algae cycle/battle. I added a bunch of new equipment and got rid of a lot of others. I also added a few fish, clean up crew (CUC), and corals. I still have to get more live rock and I will probably make a few changes to my aquascaping, since I am not very pleased with how it looks right now but all the live rock came with my used tank purchase so I can't really complain.
